How is the procedure performed?

Mini facelift surgery typically takes 1-2 hours. Local anesthesia with a sedative can be used, thanks to the fact that only minor incisions are created. However, general anesthesia is always an option, should you desire it.

Dr. Engineer will create well-hidden incisions behind the ears and within the hairline. These are usually inconspicuous once they heal. After surgery, you will experience mild bruising and swelling, but it should be less than if you had undergone a traditional facelift. Most clients return home the same day as their mini facelift, accompanied by a friend or family member.

How can I prepare for a mini facelift?

You will need to schedule a helper to drive you home and assist you with basic chores after your surgery. Make sure your living environment is set up to support a comfortable and stress-free recovery period.

Let Dr. Engineer know of all medications, herbs, and supplements you are currently taking, as he may have to adjust your regimen. You should stop taking OTC medications, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, before your appointment, as these can trigger excessive bleeding. If you smoke, you’ll need to quit for about 4-6 weeks both before and after your mini facelift.

On the day of your appointment, make sure your face and neck are clean and that you avoid wearing makeup or fragrances. You should leave all jewelry and accessories at home.

What happens after my procedure?

Even though the mini facelift requires less recovery, patients will still have to contend with some downtime. The incisions will heal faster, however, since they are shorter than usual. After surgery, you will be wrapped in a bandage that will remain in place for 24 hours. Your total recovery time will be 1-2 weeks.
