What is revision rhinoplasty?
Revision rhinoplasty is a procedure done to correct visual concerns or breathing problems that resulted from the original nose surgery.
It’s possible the origination surgeon did not go far enough to correct nasal imperfections–or in other cases, they went too far. Rhinoplasty is a delicate, finesse procedure that takes a highly experienced eye and trained hand. A revision rhinoplasty is even more complex and requires the best of the best when it comes to choosing the right plastic surgeon.

- A completed your surgical journey with the desired outcome

Reasons to get Revision Rhinoplasty
There are a number of reasons for revision rhinoplasty in Las Vegas. Typically in these cases, the change in the new nose is either too subtle or too extreme. Nasal issues include, but are not limited to, the following:
Deviated Septum
The dividing wall between the nostrils is irregularly positioned, obstructing airflow.
Perforated Septum
There was an opening created within the septum which makes a whistling or wheezing sound when you breathe.
Asymmetry
The nose didn’t heal properly, and now isn’t proportioned equally. It may appear crocked, pinched, too uptilted, too small, and so on. There are a wide variety of aesthetic nasal issues in this category. This condition is usually caused by scar tissue from the initial rhinoplasty.
What happens during the procedure?
Your revision rhinoplasty depends upon the specifics of what the revision requires, which can be moderate or extensive. Your procedure will be done under general anesthesia, and it will take anywhere from one hour to longer, depending on what is required to achieve the ideal results.
Dr. Engineer will make incisions in the interior of the nose if possible, so you are not left with visible scars. He will sculpt the nose further if it is indicated that the original work was underdone. If the original nose job was overdone and function has been impaired, he will rebuild the tissue using cartilage of the nose, ear, or even a portion of the rib.
Recovery after Revision Rhinoplasty
The recovery process is similar to the recovery after your first rhinoplasty. Additionally, you may need more extensive bandaging or splints to keep your nose steady in the proper shape for a longer period of time than your initial rhinoplasty. Revision rhinoplasty generally has a longer healing time compared to initial rhinoplasty procedures.
Most patients can return to work in about a week, although recovery times vary from person to person. Do not exercise or exert yourself for at least three weeks. Expect bruising and swelling to resolve within a few weeks, but long-term, subtle changes in nasal swelling will continue as your nose settles completely over the next year or two.
